Additional Information: Written for flutist Carol Wincenc in 1989 on commission from the National Endowment Consortium Commission Grant, Klezmer Rondos was intended to portray the typical Eastern European klezmer style as a concert work in Western classical instrumentation. The piece was revised in 1995 for its premiere by the New York Philharmonic and became a concerto for flute, tenor, and symphony orchestra.
