The Sonata for Horn and Piano was written in 1973 for my sister, Elaine Phillips. Hornist Mary Jatko and I premiered it that same year at the Walker Art Center, in Minneapolis, MN, on the very first public concert of the Minnesota (now American) Composers Forum.
